Numerous malls in Southern California and the nation over expanded their hours Saturday for what should be the busiest shopping day of the year.

Specialists say Super Saturday is the busiest shopping day of the year, beating black Friday crowds regardless of fewer deals.

Numerous local malls are shutting late to accommodate last-minute customers.

The Glendale Galleria will be open until midnight, Del Amo Fashion Center shuts down at 11:59 p.m., customers have until 11 p.m. at The Grove while Westfield Topanga and South Coast Plaza shut down at 10 p.m.

Macy’s opened its doors at 7 a.m. Saturday and Kohl’s will remain open 24 hours through 6 p.m. Christmas Eve.

The National Retail Federation predicts around 148 million individuals are relied upon to hit the stores Saturday, up considerably from a year ago because of the way that Black Friday was later this year and there are fewer days to shop.
